When the very first vines were planted in Australia, some 200 years ago, Tempranillo was already the backbone of the Spanish wine industry where it is still the most widely planted red grape variety.

It grows well in the Hunter Valley and this wine is a light to medium bodied wine that has leathery characters on the nose and flavours of cherries and other red fruits.

This is an easy drinking style and can be consumed whilst it is young.

Slosh it generously when simmering a paella and drink the rest in moderation and preferably have some left to go with your paella.
