Verdelho grapes arrived very early in Australia in the early 1900’s from it’s original home; Portugal.
The Hunter Valley is a stronghold for Verdelho. It loves our climatic conditions and the sandy soil where it is grown in.
It is a lighter style of wine and usually displays tropical fruit flavours like Mango, Guava, Pineapple and other fruit characters.
This wine is a great accompaniment for spicy dishes like Thai / Mexican or Indian foods. But, don’t let those recommendations restrict you and drink it icy cold, just by itself and one bottle is never going to be enough.
